Guoan fell short in the CSL title race this season as they dropped to fourth place after losing their final match against Shanghai Shenhua.
The defeat was a blow for Guoan fans who had been hoping for a strong finish to the season and secure a top four spot to qualify for the AFC Champions League next year.
Despite the disappointment, Guoan's manager, Luiz Felipe Scolari, remained optimistic about the team's chances in the future.
"We have lost one game but we still have three more games left," said Scolari. "We will focus on our training and try to improve."
Scolari also praised his players' effort throughout the season, saying that they had shown great resilience despite facing tough opponents.
"Every player gave their best and I am proud of them," he added.
Despite the disappointment, there were some positive moments during the season for Guoan. The team's young talent, including Zhang Tiefeng and Wang Fei, impressed many with their performances.
However, the team's struggles in the midfield, particularly in the absence of star player Ye Shi, could be a major issue for them going forward.
As for Shanghai Shenhua, they secured their first league title since 2011 by defeating Guangzhou Evergrande at the end of the season.
Shanghai Shenhua's coach, Zhang Jikang, was delighted with the win and praised his team's hard work throughout the season.
"We worked very hard all season and it paid off today," said Zhang. "We are happy to finally lift the championship trophy."
For Guoan, it will be important for them to focus on improving their defensive performance if they want to compete for a top four finish in the future.
Overall, it was a disappointing season for Guoan but they can take heart from the fact that they showed great effort and resilience throughout the campaign. With the right changes made, they may be able to turn things around in the coming seasons.
